如果说Nelly Furtado上张专辑《Folklore》没有诞生一首能够让人记住的单曲的话，那么这《Loose》在美国正式发行之前，Nelly与说唱歌手Timbaland合唱的《Promiscuous》以及另一支单《Maneater》就已经分别在Billboard Hot 100单曲榜和英国单曲榜中名列前茅。提到这张《Loose》，就不能不说Timbaland。除了与Nelly合唱冠军单曲《Promiscuous》之外，Timbaland还一人包揽了吉他，打击乐器，鼓，键盘等乐器的录制。除此之外，Timbaland还亲自出任本张专辑的制作人和执行制作人，可谓居功至尾。在Timbaland的打造之下，《Loose》顺理成章的融入了更多的Hip-Hop和R&B等黑人音乐元素。与Attitude合唱的《Afraid》，《Maneater》，主打单曲《Promiscuous》以及《No Hay Igual》都是节奏十分出色的单曲，而这种类型的歌曲也是在Nelly以前专辑中并不多见的。听完专辑的前半部分，我们会发现如今的Nelly Furtado跟当初素面朝天演唱《I'm Like A Bird》那个Nelly Furtado真的是不一样了。
较之Nelly Furtado以前的专辑，这张专辑中融合了更多Hip-Hop，R&B和舞曲等音乐元素。作为葡萄牙人的后裔，Nelly对节奏的把握也还是具有一定天分的，对不同类型歌曲的演绎也还算不错。Nelly Furtado明显开始转型了，就这张专辑来看，她的这次转型还是比较成功的。
